Leyton UK is delighted to confirm the St George’s Covid Shield charitable project as the recipient of Leyton’s NHS donation for three months.

We recently announced that 1% of all funds collected by the firm in April, May and June will be donated to an NHS-related organisation or project, with the first payment for April already received by the Covid Shield charitable project.

About the project

Led by Mr Hamid Daya, a leading Consultant ENT Surgeon currently practicing at St. George's Hospital, the purpose of the project is to design, produce and distribute first-rate protective equipment for use by NHS practitioners who are looking after patients during the Covid 19 crisis.

The equipment includes the Covid shield which is currently in use for tracheostomies. This innovative project progressed from concept to practice in just three weeks and provides an significant additional layer of protection during complex operations.

It is planned that further protective equipment for other healthcare settings with a potential risk of exposure to Covid 19 will be developed in the near future.

Leyton wishes the team every success and is looking forward to following the progress of the project.
