Event: Securing Ireland's Future through Research & Innovation

Leyton will host an Innovation Conference on May 26th at the Irish Management Institute in Sandyford, Dublin 18. The conference aims to explore the future of Research and Innovation in Ireland and its importance in economic recovery...

Leyton Ireland will host an exciting and informative innovation conference in May which will explore the prospect for growth in Ireland through innovation. This conference, supported by Vodafone will centre on the theme:

"SECURING IRELANDS FUTURE THROUGH RESEARCH & INNOVATION"

As a key driver of economic growth and job creation, investment in Research and Innovation (“R&I”) has a critical role to play in Ireland’s future. Through innovation, many companies have not only survived the turmoil of recent years, but have emerged stronger and better placed for growth.  Now is the time to build on these successes, increase the levels of investment in R&I in Ireland and make our “Smart Economy” a reality rather than an aspiration.  While we appear to be heading in the right direction (Ireland showed a 13% increase in R&D spend in 2009), we are still some way short of the European target of 3% of GDP invested in R&D by 2020.

Our panel of expert speakers will present on the issues most relevant to innovation in Ireland including the funding/incentives available, intellectual property and the shaping of future policy. Some of Ireland's most dynamic and innovative companies will also give insight into their experiences. Attendance at this seminar is a must for any company engaged in innovation in Ireland.

EVENT PROGRAMME

The Conference is free of charge to attend and will take place from 2.00pm until 6.00pm, followed by a food and drinks reception from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. Attendees will have to opportunity to ask the panel questions following the speeches as well as liaise with them during the reception. Leyton's technical experts will also be available to discuss any queries relating to R&D eligibility and claiming potential.
